I too had not played a Metal Gear game since the first, but I must say the MGS4 is awesome and you should play it if only for the gameplay. I use gametrailer to catch up on the story, but the game is so good that I've already beaten it 4 times (once on The Boss Extreme, the hardest difficulty). It's also probably the best looking console game to date. Would you have picked up a ps3 had you known that FF 13 was going to be on the 360 (assuming that was one of your reasons for getting the ps3)?
