I too had not played a Metal Gear game since the first, but I must say the MGS4 is awesome and you should play it if only for the gameplay. I use gametrailer to catch up on the story, but the game is so good that I've already beaten it 4 times (once on The Boss Extreme, the hardest difficulty). It's also probably the best looking console game to date. Would you have picked up a ps3 had you known that FF 13 was going to be on the 360 (assuming that was one of your reasons for getting the ps3)? Now I'm chilling on the sofa with a gamepad, I've been spurred on to new heights of gaming excellence (and a new low in real life existence!)
